After having confirmed the suspension of the Argentine National Teams participation on the FIFA friendlies, the first division’s tournament could return next week.

While Argentine Women’s Football is paused due to the difficult health situation in our country, the suspension of the “Selección” friendly matches seems to provide a new chance for a soon return to the fields: it is said that the AFA is in dialogue with several clubs in order to reactive the “Torneo Apertura 2021” during the course of the FIFA date from June 7 to 15.

The possible decision of an official return to competition would be based on the disposal of the Argentine clubs affected by the departure of their international players. If these entities agree to play no matter what, the eighth day of the first division tournament would be scheduled for next week’s business days.

The new women’s football calendar must be adjusted to the new protocol’s guidelines presented by the professional activities of the National Government. That is where it is established that all matches must be organized for the five business days of the week.

If the return of the competitions is finally confirmed, the Torneo Apertura will start living its 8th and penultimate regular round. While Boca, River and UAI Urquiza have already got their place in the quarterfinal keys, there are still five quialifying spots available, distributed between the two groups that compose the category.
