GROUP A
Gimnasia La Plata showed its best version on its visit to the “Tita Mattiussi”. “Las Lobas” beat Racing 3-1, reaching the top with only ninety minutes ahead for the end of the first phase at the Torneo Apertura. Even though Rocío Bueno scored for “La Academia¨, the goals of Milagros Oliver, Abril Reche and Claudia Roldán were vital to get 13 points, stay in third place and depend on themselves while they think about the next challenge.
One of the other teams that does not want to give up and continues to achieve important results is El Porvenir: Gerli´s players won 3-0 over Lanús and got thirteen units. Agustina Ochiuzzi´s double added to the Ayelén Acuña´s great performance, marked the way to the victory against “Las Granates¨.
On the other hand, Laura Romero was the heroine of the day for Deportivo Español, which needed to win and wait for results in order to climb in the competition´s standings. The forward player scored all of her team´s goals against S.A.T and allowed it to keep on dreaming about the playoffs.
While Defensores de Belgrano enjoyed its free weekend, the classic between Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo was postponed. Both clubs took the decision of rescheduling the match since they had international players who had been affected by the FIFA Women´s Friendlies.
GROUP B
It is also a defining time at the second group: while River Plate and UAI Urquiza postponed their match and already have their place in the next round, there are still two more spots availables.
For the time being, Rosario Central is the one that is in absolute control of its destiny. “Las Canallas” had no problems and beat Excursionistas (2-0), this way the team reached the third place with fourteen units. Lara López scored the two only goals.
With the same number of points but with a smaller goal difference, Independiente shows up. “Las Diablas” recovered from their last defeat during the seventh date and with goals of Melanie Moran, Luz Perlini and Johana Barrera, they won over Estudiantes de La Plata 3-0.
Platense (5º), a team that also got three points in the last match, has thirteen units. In this particular case, Agustina Arias and Guillermina Cottellasa led the way to a tight 2-1win over Villa San Carlos.
Finally, Huracán could leave behind a rare start at the beginning of the season to catch on in the fight for the playoffs. At one of the best performances of the entire tournament, “Las Quemeras” left no doubts about their quality and won -as visitors- 4-1 over Comunicaciones.
