Independiente announced the creation of its Department of Gender Equality and Diversity.

With more and more clubs adopting these measures, Independiente is the new team of the Argentinian top-flight to announce the creation of the Department of Gender Equality and Diversity. The new body was presented through the entity’s official social accounts and replace the current Women’s Subcommittee.
“Independiente does not escape the current problematics surrounding these issues and highlights its social commitment, taking an essential step to transform itself into a club that fights for equality”, reports the statement published on its official web page.
Along the announcement, the Board of Directors of Avellaneda’s team receive two proposals with significant themes related to the new department. The first one deals with the presentation of a new institutional protocol for action and prevention in cases of violence or discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation.
The other one it’s about the creation of an internal secretary to the new body, which objective would be destined to application and maintenance of the protocol mentioned in the previous point.
