the "Albiceleste" and Ecuador decided to reschedule the matches that were supposed to be played as the FIFA friendlies appointments from to June 7 to 15.

Because of the growing health crisis spreading across the South American continent, the Argentine Women´s National Team decided to skip the next FIFA friendly appointment. In full agreement with Ecuador, the two matches that both teams were going to play from June 7 to 15 will be rescheduled.

Even though the “tricolor” coach, Emilia Lima, had announced the commitment a few months ago, the AFA (Argentine´s Football Association) had remained wary of the unstable situation caused by the pandemic. At the same time, the sports governing body reported that these soccer games could be played in November, as long as the calendar of “La Selección” allows it.

Thus, the Argentine players will not be able to be part of a new date of international women´s football. Their last presentation took place last April when they played against Venezuela in the triangular match for the Basque Country International Women´s Cup. Also, during this year Argentina had the chance of participating in the She Believes Cup at the beginning of 2021 against important teams such as Canada, Brazil and the United States.

The match between Argentina and Ecuador was forced to follow the same steps as the scheduled game that had Paraguay and Colombia as its protagonists since the borders´ closure in Chile (country where this last mentioned match had to be played in) pushed the cancellation of the FIFA date.
